Our Daikon Maki Rolls are exotic and flavorful, perfect for appealing to a crowd that likes to try new things, or old things in new ways. A Daikon is a variety of radish, the most common being the Japanese variety which resembles a large white carrot. For this preparation, the daikon is pickled and then simply wrapped in nori, seasoned rice and a sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds. The texture of pickled daikon is crisp, but very tender, and the acidity of the pickling juices is a perfect compliment to the moist and mellow rice.
