Yuzu marmalade is made from Yuzu juice and rind, along with honey and sugar. It’s a delicious Asian condiment and goes great in marinades and dipping sauces. It’s tart but sweet and can also be used for baking.

Marmalade is a jelly like spread made from the juice and the rind of a citrus fruit. The most common type we see today is orange marmalade but in theory, it could be made with just about any of the citrus fruits. Marmalade has its roots in Greek and Roman cookery, with a history fan base and following across the United Kingdom. As cultures and products spread, dishes can’t always be replicated identically. When the concept of marmalade reached the Asian continent, Yuzu was substituted, out of preference or out of necessity, for the classic orange.

Yuzu is a small citrus fruit, similar in taste to a grapefruit, but with a sweetness like a mandarin.

Yuzu marmalade works best when you let it play with some more of its native flavors. Use it in a dipping sauce or marinade for an Asian dish. Alternatively, try some Yuzu marmalade in your favorite filled cookies or simply spread a bit on a slice of toast
